How To Activate 5G with your iPhone ?

Steps to activate 5G with your iPhone. Few of the specific models of iPhone like iPhone 13, iPhone 12 and iPhone SE (3rd generation) are enabled for 5G services with  iOS 14.5 or later. Existing eSIM or Physical SIM can be used for activating 5G services on your iPhone. 

In few cases, you may need to contact your carrier to set up the SIM card from your previous iPhone for use with a 5G network, know Do I Need a New SIM to Enable 5G ?

1. First know about the coverage of 5G in your area by your telecom service provider. If 

2. When you're in an area with 5G coverage for your carrier and your 5G cellular plan has been activated, you'll see a 5G icon in the status bar of your iPhone: 

3. Though in above models of iPhone, the 5G services are enabled automatically, if not, follow the below steps.

4. Go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options, for Single SIM or eSIM

5. If you're using Dual SIM, go to Settings > Cellular and choose the number whose options you want to change.



If 5G Status is not Available ?


If you Don't see the 5G status in the notification bar, Go to 

1. Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options. 
2. If you see this screen, your device has 5G activated. 
3. If you don’t see this screen, contact your carrier to confirm that your plan supports 5G.
4. Turn on Airplane Mode, then turn it off.
5. 5G will not work If you turn on Low Power Mode,
