Facebook is now launching application for Online food ordering. Facebook already launched "order Food" apps in USA where users may order online food from partnering restaurants around from within the app itself.
The “Order Food” feature in the main navigation of Facebook is more convenient as it aggregates all the supported restaurants together on one page.
Anyone can find the list of restaurants, which include a featured photo, price range, star ratings, and type of cuisine.
It will also display whether delivery, pickup or both are available.
You can then click “Start Order” to begin the ordering process – much like you could before, if ordering directly from the restaurant’s Facebook Page.
Since this services is not started yet in India, this option will not be available. Just like food ordering apps, you can place an order, make payments and track it till delivery.
Facebook also provided the features of direct chatting with restaurants, and Instagram, to let you see the menu of these restaurants and prepare an order.
Facebook this application would naturally kill the business of may startup like Zomato, Fresh-menu etc.
